1974 - an arbitrary year i plucked out of nowhere...it could have been any of the years between 1970 and 1979, but i reckon this particular year was stuffed to bursting with marvellous music , and so here it is.

glam rock was in full swing, soul was getting better all the time and the dazzling array of quality singer/songwriters were almost too good to be true.
in another two years things would get out of hand and pompousness threatened to ruin everything - but punk rock swept away a major portion of that, thank heaven.
